Lectures
Having been educated as a teacher, speaking in front of people is a natural capability for me. I have spoken to numerous groups over the years, from small intimate in-services to large arenas full of teenagers. I come from a long line of evangelistic ministers and have learned to use their techniques of crowd attention to convey the message of my talk. I also incorporate humor into whatever topic I am addressing and tell stories that relate to the information. My experience is that people remember stories better than facts and if I can weave the facts into a good story then there is a higher chance of information retention. Here is a list of some of the topics that I have presented:
- Expert Witness Testimony and Projecting the Prosthetic Needs of the Amputee
- The Amputee Athlete
- “Living with a Below Knee Amputation” discussion of my book
- Returning Amputees to Employment
- Amputee Survival Kit
- Project Hope, Belize- Bringing Prosthetics to Central America
- The Capabilities of Amputees
- The Business of Prosthetics
- The Shower Prosthesis and Other Limbs
